Squinkies, from Blip Toys, are small cute little squishy squashy soft characters that are housed in small little plastic bubble containers, similar to toys from your traditional Gumball machine. The characters are divided into seven different types, namely babies, friends, kitties, pets, ponies, puppies and rare. Currently there are 196 different Squinkie characters to collect, with more already being scheduled for release. There are also eight different Squinkies Clubs that each Squinkie character belongs to and is associated with. The wider Squinkies world consists broadly of three different types of products. First, there are the individual Squinkies themselves that can be used and played with as they are or put on top of various everyday items such as pencils and pens by using the hole in the base of each character. To make life easier, there are currently six ‘bubble packs’ that effectively each provide 16 different varieties, to save you having to buy each of these cute characters separately. Secondly, there are a number of playsets that are really like doll house sets that you would more traditionally buy and know. These playsets come in different themes to appeal to different kids and each one also acts as a Squinkies dispenser. Kids love to play with their favorite Squinkies with these playsets, whether that is in the Gumball Playhouse or in the kitted out Bake Shop and the furniture items that comes with each. Thirdly, there is a growing selection of accessories that can range from fun jewelry items such as bracelets and rings to a number of different Squinkies carry cases and bags. Girls especially love the jewelry items, which they can actually add their chosen Squinkies onto. Squinkies have shot into the limelight following the much aired recent TV commercials with that catchy chorus line. Kids have, it seems gone Squinkies mad and any type of bubble pack, playset or accessory is continuously sold out from stores nationwide. The only reliable place, it would seem that has available supplies of all of these are selective online suppliers. Kids seem to love to play with these hot toys and I am sure that with the run up to Christmas, demand is only set to soar, particularly as they make the perfectly priced and sized stocking filler. Overall, Squinkies are an affordable toy for kids (and parents), especially in comparison to so many other hot fad toys that continuously emerge. Kids all over the country are not only buying Squinkies as a form of toy, but there is a huge number being bought up for collecting and trading purposes. You should bear in mind, however, that these cute characters are small and they are not recommended for children under the age of 4 for obvious safety reasons. |
